After dreaming of completing the Great Loop for 25 years, I finally bought a 32 ft. Grand Banks sedan last summer. My first mate, Patty, and I left Lake Barkley, KY on November 1st after spending two of the coldest nights of our existence in rain and howling wind moored to the dock. We pushed on to endure many more bad weather days, a mechanical breakdown, close encounter with a tree and a rental car trip home to regroup. More than 1,000 miles, 13 locks and a Thanksgiving passage across Mobile Bay later we moored the boat in Gulf Shores, AL and finally sold it a couple of weeks ago. Our abandonment of the dream was bittersweet, however, and I wanted something nautical & nice to give to Patty to honor her companionship and to remember the accomplishment. Your Mariner Commodore Ocean Blue square knot bracelet looks perfect on her wrist and will recall the good times whenever she wears it. Thank you.
